It was too good an afternoon to miss as it had been sunny and breezy all day but by the time I got to the beach at the Dip (4 ) my mate was struggling with 7m on his 135 lt. board as the wind had turned light!!! So I rigged 9.4 and went out on my raceboard but the wind had filled in again and being high water with the wind cross on a big swell was running.I had abit of a beat toward the Fludgers but it was getting abit hairy and then my adjustable outhaul came undone !!! a nightmare.A quick return to the beach for repairs and a mega broad reach back ending up in the middle of Bawdsey Bay.Time to beat back and change down,it was very interesting sailing through the wild water at the R.Deben rivermouth on a 380 board but I made it back to the Dip to find my mates out with 100 lt. boards and 6m sails !!! I changed to the Falcon 90 with 6.6 and had my best times which were okay considering the sea was pretty big.I just love the Falcon and can't wait to get it some flat water !!! but it does handle the rough water very well.
